Story time: Know the end game

As a storyteller, know the end game before you begin. This comes from one of the 7 laws of covey: Always begin with the end in mind.
If your story does not direct your audience towards the end game, then either drop it or change it.

A good well-told story should always take your audience a step towards the destination that you have mapped out.
