I Think Therefore I Can

By Bruce Wade

Thinking is something I have been pondering a lot about recently. My updated Extreme Thinking framework i5 is now ready for market and will be presented from the stage for the first time this week.

Thinking is a state of being. Being alive is being able to think. To process information from input around us. We think, therefore for we exist. But how well are you equipped to think?

Here is a simple test on your creativity: Close your eyes and spell the word Hippopotamus. This is not a spelling test, but a reflection on how your brain works. If you close your eyes and just see black as you spell out aloud, then you are in Category 1. If you see the word as you spell it with big bold letters, then you are Category 2. If you begin to see hippos in a river with green grass reeds and blue sky and fish jumping and birds flying overhead…. You are in Category 3.

You may not have known that people ‘see’ and think differently. But this simple test shows just how different minds work. If is very difficult for a Category 3 person to explain a concept to a Category 1 person. They will just not get it. Not because they are stupid or not listening, they just think differently.

Understanding how the people in your team think, will help improve communication and meetings and especially think tank sessions.

Using our think i5 framework, we facilitate creative sessions that produce Thunk Sheets that capture Thunk thoughts and can then be shared so everyone can understand, absorb and contribute.

So whether you are a category 1, 2 or full colour 3, your thoughts define who you are and should be shared to be a part of a new creative future.
