Selecting a career while still at school or even at Technicon or a university is not as easy as it may seem. You may have been steered in a direction by a family or friend, but the right choice of career is key to living a happy life.
It is important to note that a career choice before the age of 25 is also an unfair activity that we place on the youth in this fast-changing world. Many people who leave school with a career in mind go through many different changes during their working years. It is also important to note that even a degree from a university will not always dictate where you end up as a working professional. I know many qualified professionals who have gone on to do a wide variety of different jobs, some not even remotely linked to what they studied to do.
So, career choice is not something you need to do and then set it in stone for life, but it is important to make at least a choice, a choice to set the course for the next stage of your life. Where that will lead you, only time will tell.
